Roncelli, Inc. is currently seeking a full time Junior Estimator that has a minimum of two (2) years of experience in commercial construction estimating, engineering, or similar experience.

The Junior Estimator will be responsible for estimating construction costs including planning and scheduling. Provide and/or coordinate full estimating services and all types of contracts. Prepare competitive bid proposals, conceptual estimating, value engineering and provide appropriate estimating services on construction management proposals.

Responsibilities

  • Support Senior Estimators with quantity take-offs, bid packages, subcontractor outreach, and pre-bid documentation.
  • Review project specs, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to define project scope.
  • Develop bid lists, solicit subcontractors/suppliers, verify safety qualifications, and coordinate site visits.
  • Prepare estimates including self-perform work and general conditions; collaborate with project management and specialty trade support.
  • Coordinate bid coverage, prepare bid proposals, and attend pre-award meetings with clients.
  • Assist with subcontractor evaluations, negotiation, and award; draft subcontracts and related documentation.
  • Facilitate job kick-off meetings and create project hand-off packages for internal teams.
  • Track project budgets, commitments, and costs in coordination with Project Managers.
  • Participate in post-bid and project status meetings; perform other duties as assigned.
  • Valid driver’s license required; this role includes periodic travel to job sites.

Education

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a construction related field or equivalent combinations of training and experience. .

Experience

  • Two (2) years of commercial construction estimating, engineering or similar experience required.
  • Thorough knowledge of estimating techniques, all engineering disciplines, cost control systems and accounts required.
  • Ability to estimate all types of projects/contracts.
  • Proficient communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills are required. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Procore, SmartBuild.Net and any owner/architect required software (i.e. Covisint and E-Builder).

The Location

Roncelli is headquartered in Sterling Heights, Michigan, however, this position will require travel to job sites that can vary throughout Southeast Michigan.
