Job Overview

S.R. Construction Services LLC is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Chief Estimator to take the lead in developing accurate, competitive, and profitable project bids for commercial, industrial, and tenant improvement projects. This is a full-time remote position with a focus on the Southeastern U.S. region, offering the flexibility to work from home while collaborating with our well-established team. The Chief Estimator will be responsible for managing the estimating process from inception to completion, ensuring precision, efficiency, and compliance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and documents to determine scope, cost, and timelines.
  • Prepare accurate, presentation-ready proposals for various project delivery methods, including design-build, GMP, stipulated sum, and cost-plus contracts.
  • Collaborate with owners, engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure bid accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Create and manage bid clarification spreadsheets, ensuring clear communication of scope and pricing.
  • Conduct take-offs for materials, labor, and equipment from blueprints and specifications.
  • Recommend and implement value-engineering strategies.
  • Respond to and issue RFIs during the estimating process.
  • Communicate effectively with internal construction management teams and superintendents.
  • Present estimates to executive leadership in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in construction estimating, with emphasis on ground-up commercial, tenant improvement, and industrial projects.
  • Strong proficiency in Procore, Construct Connect, PlanHub, Togal, and related estimating software.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and Google Drive.
  • Familiarity with AIA documentation and project cost reporting.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications with precision.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Schedule

  • Full-Time - Monday to Friday
  • Remote position with flexibility; some travel for site visits or meetings as needed.
