What do we need?

As a Data Analyst of our Payment Variance team you will be focused on collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to support operational decisions. You will work closely with senior leadership to create revenue targets and develop efficient departmental workflows, analyze business trends, client activity, new product testing and feedback, and aid in process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has experience in Zero-Balance Review/Underpayment Recovery, AR management, and knowledge of Hospital Revenue Cycle Operations and Management. This position plays a key role in the success of multiple service lines by delivering actionable insights and data informed decisions and support.

What will you provide?

  • Design, create and maintain regular and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and other deliverables to leadership
  • Manage data processing and analytics of several systems and softwares
  • Model claims data to contracts and create in depth audit priorities that align with client needs and internal revenue targets
  • Analysis of contracts between hospitals and insurance carriers to identify areas of lost revenue, operational impact, trends, and opportunities
  • Effectively communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders, technical and non-technical audiences
  • Upload, organize, and disburse large client and internal data sets, ensure that departments receive data timely and accurately
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Self-directed and organized with superior analytical and problem-solving skills; Must be comfortable with large datasets; experience with Excel, Access, SQL, and comparable databases platforms
  • Demonstrated effective communication and relationship building skills

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of healthcare data experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Thorough understanding of claims processing and reimbursement methodologies (managed care contracts, Medicare and Medicaid); experience may include negotiating, auditing or modeling for contract negotiation purposes

The US base pay range for this position starts at $25.00 hourly. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, education, training, licensure or certifications obtained. Market, location and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary, a competitive benefits package is offered.
