Job Description Summary

This position will serve as a Behavioral Health Coordinator for the MUSC Boeing Center for Children’s Wellness (BCCW). The Coordinator will support the integration of mental/behavioral health services in school districts supported by MUSC BCCW. Specifically, the Behavioral Health Coordinator will assist in the coordination and delivery of telemental health services in school settings. The position's primary role is to deliver and coordinate behavioral telehealth interventions for students identified as at-risk for mental health and/or behavioral health needs. Under the supervision of the MUSC BCCW Mental Health Project Manager, this position will develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful integration and utilization of school-based behavioral health services offered by MUSC Health.

Job Description

Job Summary: This position will serve as a Behavioral Health Coordinator for the MUSC Boeing Center for Children’s Wellness (BCCW). The Coordinator will support the integration of mental/behavioral health services in school districts supported by MUSC BCCW. Specifically, the Behavioral Health Coordinator will assist in the coordination and delivery of telemental health services in school settings. The position's primary role is to deliver and coordinate behavioral telehealth interventions for students identified as at-risk for mental health and/or behavioral health needs. Under the supervision of the MUSC BCCW Mental Health Project Manager, this position will develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful integration and utilization of school-based behavioral health services offered by MUSC Health.

This position will require in-person and remote work. The in-person work will take place in local schools and the MUSC campus.

Preferred Experience and Training: Prefer candidates who have knowledge of behavioral health organizations, practices, and resources. Candidates should have a working knowledge of school systems and be able to deliver behavioral health interventions within the school setting. Ability to communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team and coordinate activities. Ability to establish good working relationships and knowledge of psychosocial practices related to health care, including mental health care. Applicants should be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and virtual data-management systems. Prefer candidates with knowledge of telemental health services and utilization within school settings.

Job Duties

35% Program Implementation: This position under the direction of MUSC BCCW Mental Health Project

Manager will work alongside school leadership and multi-disciplinary school teams to create a system to deliver effective behavioral telehealth services. The coordinator, alongside multi-disciplinary school teams, will utilize assessment data to facilitate enrollment in appropriate levels of care, including mental health, behavioral health, and social services. Additionally, the coordinator will assist the school team in training and troubleshooting software.

35% Communication and Relationship Building: This position will serve as the MUSC BCCW point of

contact for multiple project partners, including but not limited to district and school-level staff, community partners, and MUSC Health representatives. The coordinator will build relationships with partners through frequent engagement, including in-person site visits, meetings, phone calls, and emails. They will work with providers, community partners, and stakeholders

to gather information and resources for the integration of school-based behavioral health services that

meet the needs of schools participating in MUSC BCCW Initiatives.

25% Care Coordination: The behavioral health coordinator will be responsible for coordinating telehealth service delivery with the school leadership and multi-disciplinary team. This position will facilitate patient and parent engagement in mental health, behavioral health, and social services through motivational interviewing techniques and continued follow-up. The coordinator will also support all schools utilizing MUSC in-person and telehealth services to develop a protocol for implementation and communication between providers. The coordinator will be responsible for problem-solving issues that may arise during the development of protocol and implementation.

5% Other Duties as Assigned.
