Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Ensure the safety of products through enforcement of FDA and GMP requirements and Standard Operating Procedures:

  • Ensure that all company, customers, Federal, State and local policies and procedures are followed. Responsible for following ALL Plant Safety Rules and OSHA Rules: understand and follow plant safety rules including/but not limited to safe lifting practices, safety on machine operations, etc.
  • Responsible for always following all FDA & GMP’S.
  • Directly supervise employees and temporary employees in the production line. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, approving timecards, and directing work.
  • Trains and monitors employees on proper work procedures to ensure maximum productivity with minimum waste.
  • Notifies management of areas for improvement and executes measures to streamline operations.
  • Works the line as needed and to fill in any gaps.
  • Responsible for returning all complete documentation at the end of the workday and/or shift to the Quality Department.
  • Responsible for communicating any mechanical/electrical issues to maintenance and the Production Manager immediately.
  • Effectively interfaces and coordinates between other departments and employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Work Experience, Skill Requirements & Certifications

Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required:

  • Some college preferred

Minimum Experience Required

  • Minimum 2 years of related experience as a Production Supervisor.
  • Experience with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) in the food industry preferred.
  • Experience supervising employees and temporary employees highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other federal requirements.

Skills Required

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to read, speak and write in English.
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) plant safety and OSHA requirements.
  • Proven success with working in a team environment.

Additional Information

  • Exposure to food allergens, wheat, nuts, coconut, soy products.

Salary

$22.50 per hour plus $2.00 shift differential ($24.50 total). Some overtime each shift required. Quarterly bonus eligible (bonus is discretionary and determined by meeting performance goals.)
