Job Overview

Galaxy Energy Services is seeking a dedicated and motivated Apprentice Electrician to join our Field Operations team. This full-time hybrid position is perfect for someone actively enrolled in, or planning to start, a registered electrical apprenticeship. You'll gain hands-on experience while working under licensed electricians on residential and commercial projects across the Virginia peninsulas. We invest in your success-offering paid education and training upon successful completion of each course or semester.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed electricians in residential installations, troubleshooting, and repairs
  • Learn and apply electrical code standards and safety protocols on the job
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints and electrical diagrams under guidance
  • Track job materials and contribute to smarter material use
  • Participate in company-sponsored training and apprenticeship coursework
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
  • Take direction from journeymen and contribute to team efforts
  • Document work performed and maintain logs of on-the-job learning hours

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of general electrical experience preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Currently enrolled or interested in a registered electrical apprenticeship
  • Willingness to complete and pass technical coursework (tuition support available)
  • Reliable self-starter with strong attention to detail and a safety-first mindset
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions
  • Valid driver's license preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in diverse environments
  • Generator related experience

Schedule

  • Monday-Friday with potential overtime as needed based on project timelines
