About the Employer:
Fellowship Bible Church is hiring a full-time Database Specialist at their campus in West Little Rock, AR. We are one church in six locations, united by vision and teaching.
About the position:
The Database Specialist will work alongside the I.T. team to cast vision for and maintain day-to-day operations of our Church Management System (ChMS) thereby equipping staff to help people take their next steps toward Christ. Our ChMS is a mission-critical tool that allows us to identify and engage with the people that call Fellowship Bible Church home as well as inform ministry decision-making. This position is responsible for gathering and ensuring the quality and accuracy of data in the ChMS. This role serves as a Subject Matter Expert, mentor, and trainer for the pastoral and administrative staff at Fellowship. This role will assist our staff in maintaining data integrity and security, extracting, and analyzing data, event registration coordination and support, and end-user documentation and support. The Database Specialist is a member of the I.T. team and is expected to communicate effectively with other departments at Fellowship. The accurate and reliable functioning of our ChMS is critical to Fellowship’s mission of making disciples at home and around the world.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Train newly hired staff in basic database functionality
- Train current staff on advanced techniques
- Ensure data entered into the ChMS is accurate
- Constantly search for and correct flawed data already in the system
- Document procedures for staff to use in accessing the ChMS
- Monitor and contribute to the Church database community
- Invest in other staff members to improve their competency in the ChMS
- Read software update release notes to be aware of implications for Fellowship
- Flexibility to deal with multiple and changing priorities
- Comply with documented regulations for Fellowship staff
- Provide input to the I.T. team regarding future improvement of the ChMS
- Effective communication, both written and verbal, with the I.T. team and other staff groups utilizing Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Ministry Platform, and the I.T. ticketing system
- Create and manage events and event registrations within Ministry Platform
- Ensure events requiring check in are setup properly and tested within Check In Suite in Ministry Platform
- Attend MPUG Conference (Ministry Platform User Group) annually
- Continually watch Ministry Platform webinars, and read Ministry Platform KB articles to help increase and improve knowledge of Ministry Platform
- Other related duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Database or information management experience Desired Education and Experience:
- SQL / SSRS skills
- Experience using Ministry Platform
- Understanding of the unique environment of a church staff
- Basic HTML and JavaScript understanding
- Microsoft or MySQL Certifications Knowledge and Skills:
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Intermediate knowledge of Windows or Mac operating systems
- Staff are trained, empowered, and equipped to fully utilize our ChMS and related tools for ministry tasks and decision making
- Staff have high confidence in the accuracy of their ministry’s data and reports
- Data-related helpdesk tickets and projects are prioritized and triaged appropriately and timely
- Staff are well-served by the ChMS regarding event registration and check-in
- Develop rapport with the Church IT Network and ChMS communities as a source of learning and development
- Handle confidential information in a professional manner
- If not a member of Fellowship Bible Church, will consider going through the membership process
- Signed acknowledgement to policies and procedures as stated in Fellowship Bible Church’s Employee Manual
