Description

The Field Support Team Member plays a vital role in deploying, testing, and showcasing cutting-edge defense and aerospace technologies in real-world conditions. This is a hands-on technical position. It involves working directly with UAS platforms, AI-enabled sensors, rugged computing systems, and other advanced hardware in support of field demonstrations, engineering test events, and customer engagements.

Ideal candidates have experience working with military, aerospace, or high-tech hardware systems in a field or operational setting and can confidently operate, troubleshoot, and represent complex technologies in dynamic environments.

Job Duties

  • Field Demonstration Support: Assist with equipment setup, system operation, and teardown during live demonstrations and field events.
  • System Preparation & Deployment Readiness: Perform pre-deployment checks and ensure all field kits, hardware, and configurations are fully operational.
  • On-Site Operations: Operate systems in the field, execute test procedures, and assist in live data collection and performance validation.
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Provide basic diagnostic support and first-line troubleshooting of hardware/software issues during field ops.
  • Customer Interaction: Interface with customers, gather field feedback, and communicate technical observations to internal engineering teams.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Log test results, system issues, and field notes; contribute to continuous product improvement cycles.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, developers, and team leads to improve deployment workflows and product usability.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in field service, electronics support, test & evaluation, or military UAS/sensor systems
  • Technical proficiency with hardware/software systems, ideally in aerospace, defense, robotics, or similar high-tech environments
  • Comfortable using Linux command line, basic scripting (e.g., Python, C++), and troubleshooting embedded systems
  • Strong communication skills and ability to operate independently in the field
  • Willingness to travel frequently (CONUS/OCONUS) and work in demanding environments
  • Must be eligible to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting UAS platforms, EO/IR sensors, or AI/ML-enabled technologies
  • Familiarity with field testing protocols and demo preparation for government or defense customers
  • Basic understanding of ITAR/export control regulations and secure equipment handling
  • Exposure to rugged computing systems, RF data links, or real-time video streaming platforms
