The Savannah Convention Center is currently seeking a part-time Accounting Specialist to join our team. The Accounting Specialist shall serve as a Brand Ambassador for the Authority exhibiting the shared values and business beliefs of our team of professionals. The part-time Accounting Specialist is responsible for assisting the Accounting team with general accounting duties for the GWCCA.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Under the general direction of the Director of Finance & Administration, the part-time Accounting Specialist will assist with invoicing, audit, and voucher entry.
  • Assist with the day-to-day administrative support function to include but not limited to: filing, responding to internal and external inquiries, etc.
  • Respond to Authority staff inquiries regarding invoice-related matters (payments, coding, etc.)
  • Assist in the operation, administration, and coordination of day-to-day Business Office activities and operations.
  • Perform such other duties, functions, special projects, and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Perform monthly inventory of food and beverage with staff and assist with inventory valuation.
  • Assist in compiling data to support required reporting.
  • Monitor accounts receivable balances and follow up on past due invoices.

Education And/Or Experience

  • One to three years of experience in general accounting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
