We are looking for passionate, caring, and dedicated counselors and social workers to provide office-based and telehealth services to our clients.
The Crisis Recovery Center will transform crisis care by providing 24/7 walk-in behavioral health services meant to immediately identify, triage, address, stabilize and treat persons in mental health crisis and assist those who have substance abuse withdrawal needs.
The Intake Clinician at the Crisis Recovery Center is responsible for conducting timely, comprehensive mental health and risk assessments for individuals presenting for services. This clinician serves as the first point of contact for clients entering the facility and is responsible for determining eligibility, appropriateness for admission, and the most appropriate level of care. The Intake Clinician plays a key role in crisis triage, care planning, and clinical decision-making to ensure client safety and rapid stabilization. All duties are performed under the supervision of the Crisis Recovery Center leadership with a trauma-informed, client-centered approach.

Essential Job Functions
- Conduct face-to-face mental health and substance use assessments for individuals presenting to the Crisis Recovery Center.
- Complete intake screenings, suicide risk evaluations, and determine appropriate disposition or admission to observation/stabilization services.
- Coordinate with medical staff, prescribers, case managers, and other support personnel to determine appropriate treatment pathways.
- Develop initial treatment plans and safety interventions for admitted clients.
- Assist with client registration and ensure all necessary clinical and demographic documentation is completed.
- Triage incoming clients based on acuity, clinical presentation, and risk level.
- Communicate effectively with families, law enforcement, EMS, and community partners regarding incoming admissions and client needs.
- Provide brief crisis counseling and emotional support to clients and families during the intake process.
- Maintain thorough and timely clinical documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Ensure alignment with trauma-informed, culturally competent care practices.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to support the coordination of care from intake through discharge.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Strong working knowledge of DSM-5 criteria, mental status assessments, suicide and violence risk assessment tools.
- Ability to make rapid clinical decisions under pressure and in high-stress situations.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with psychotropic medications, substance use disorders, and co-occurring diagnoses.
- Understanding of crisis triage models and short-term stabilization services.
- Cultural competence and sensitivity to working with diverse populations.
- Licensed in the State of Ohio as an LSW, LPC, or higher. Independent licensure (LISW, LPCC) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in crisis services, emergency psychiatry, or intake assessment preferred.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR), Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certification in CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Intervention (or obtained within 90 days of hire).
