Description

CESA 6 is looking for a Human Resources Generalist, that is a dynamic team mate with a diverse skill set including strong communication, problem solving and anaylitical abilities. This position is located in Oshkosh Wisconsin.

Summary

The Human Resources Generalist under the general supervision of the Human Resources Manager and in conformance with established policies and procedures, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting employee lifecycle processes and collaborating on human resources partnerships. The Human Resources Generalist will assist in developing, maintaining and administering personnel programs that support the Agency’s mission and core values.

Essential Functions

  • Serves as a point of contact and resource to employees and managers; extends a high level of service to build and maintain solid working relationships and credibility with employees.
  • Develop knowledge and expertise in regards to federal law state statute as it pertains to human resources and ensure compliance with all regulations.
  • Support the implementation and execution of the recruitment, hiring and onboarding process for new employees.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training and certifications, anti-harassment training, and other team development activities.
  • Facilitate the off-boarding and exit interview process for employees and compile turnover data.
  • Prepare reports for the Human Resources department to analyze key performance indicators compared to goals and objectives.
  • Prepare for review and approval of individual employee contracts, employment letters and letters of intent, annually and as needed based on staffing needs of the Agency.
  • Maintain employment files and records, compiling pertinent employee information for the purpose of ensuring accuracy, compliance and confidentiality.
  • Assist in implementing human resources practices; employee handbook, job descriptions and organizational chart.
  • Prepare and complete the annual Department of Public Instruction WISEstaff report and audit.
  • Participate in agency committees.
  • Prepare content for Agency internal newsletter, Synergy.
  • Support planning and scheduling Agency in-service trainings and events.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to ensure continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience, Education And/or Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree in Human Resource Management.
  • At least 5 years of professional human resources experience required with leadership experience preferred.
  • Prior experience working with a school district or nonprofit corporation desired.
  • Possess an understanding and general knowledge of change theory, continuous improvement practices and management principles involved in strategic planning.

  • Advanced computer skills, including e-mail, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite and virtual meeting facilitation.
  • Professionally represent the agency and public and private school systems in interactions with staff, customers and community.
  • Facilitate an overall work environment of mutual respect and collaboration.
  • Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
  • Ability to provide consultation and support to agency personnel.

Work Environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to work in a professional and flexible office environment, with or without visual and audible distractions.
  • Position may require extended hours including evenings and weekends, travel to multiple work sites and occasional out-of-town travel.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is regularly required to effectively communicate in person, via phone and in writing.
  • The employee may occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
