Job Summary
The Cafeteria Worker plays an essential role in providing nutritious meals in a safe, clean, and welcoming environment that reflects the values of the Catholic faith. The ideal candidate will support the school's mission by ensuring food service operations run smoothly and hygienically while interacting with students and staff in a respectful and caring manner.
Job Responsibilities
Pre-Employment Screening
All candidates receiving an employment offer must submit a pre-employment screening. The screening will include criminal background check, Family Care Safety Registration, drug screen, employment and educational licensure/certification verification, health screening, and any other screenings deemed necessary for employment. Any offer would be contingent upon successful completion of any required screening.

Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve breakfast and/or lunch in accordance with approved menus and nutritional guidelines.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations (e.g., USDA, local health codes).
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, food prep areas, serving stations, and dining areas.
- Assist with inventory, receiving, and storing food and supplies.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, steamers, and dishwashers.
- Set up and break down food service areas before and after meals.
- Work collaboratively with cafeteria staff, school personnel, and volunteers.
- Treat all students and staff with kindness, patience, and professionalism, consistent with Catholic values.
- Uphold and support the Catholic identity and mission of the school.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Previous food service or cafeteria experience (preferred).
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen sanitation practices.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must pass background checks and complete any required diocesan safe environment training.
