Work Schedule

  • 4-day/10-hour work week
  • Monday - Thursday, 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM; plus a shift differential of $1.50
  • Overtime may be required on Fridays and Saturdays.

About The Role

Spartronics is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Quality Inspector to join our team. This role performs detailed inspections of electronic assemblies, subassemblies, and components. This position supports in-process, final, and receiving inspections, ensuring compliance with IPC standards and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against packing lists, purchase orders, and invoices.
  • Perform a visual inspection and document incoming parts, including electronics and mechanical components, for any damage or discrepancies.
  • Log receipts into ERP/MRP systems, ensure data accuracy, and route materials appropriately.
  • Work closely with Quality Control for items requiring incoming inspection.
  • Label and stage materials for inventory, production, or inspection.
  • Communicate with procurement, quality, and warehouse teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of receiving and staging areas.
  • Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment as needed.
  • Comply with all company safety, ESD, and handling protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 13485, ISO 9001, and ITAR requirements.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in quality inspection in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Epicor)
  • Ability to read and understand purchase orders, packing slips, and material specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
  • Basic computer proficiency (email, spreadsheets, inventory software).
  • Forklift certification or willingness to become certified.
  • Must be U.S. persons within the definition of ITAR, with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree, technical degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in quality inspection in an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Certification or formal training to IPC-A-610 or IPC-A-600 standards.
  • Knowledge of electrical, electronic, and electromechanical (EEE) components.
  • Experience with defense, aerospace, or medical product inspections.
  • Knowledge of defect classification and rework disposition processes.

Key Metrics And Focus Areas

  • Defect identification and accuracy of documentation.
  • First-pass yield and reduced customer returns.
  • Timely and consistent inspection throughput.
  • Communication of quality issues and containment response.

Physical Requirements

  • Use of microscopes and hand tools for prolonged inspection periods.
  • Manual handling of circuit boards, trays, and packaging materials.
  • Work in cleanroom or ESD-controlled environments as needed.
  • Lift up to 25 lbs and stand or sit for extended periods.

Compensation

This is a non-exempt position. Compensation is based on work experience in quality, education, and prior work experience in electronics manufacturing.
