Description

Role Summary

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales and revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with key clients, and expanding the company's market presence in your region. Your primary focus will be on building strategic partnerships, managing accounts, and ensuring customer satisfaction in the rapidly evolving electronics components industry.

Market Research and Analysis

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, customer needs, and potential areas for business expansion.
  • Analyze competitors and market conditions to develop effective strategies for gaining a competitive edge.

Business Strategy Development

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Identify and prioritize target markets, industries, and customer segments.
  • Promote sales programs and drive increased sales across various categories, including Excess, PPV, Global Services, and Shortages.

Lead Generation And Prospecting

  • Identify and target potential clients and partners through various channels.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads.
  • Proactively reach out to prospects through cold calling, networking, and other lead generation activities.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions to represent Rand, expand your professional network, and stay updated with industry trends.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Understand clients' needs and provide solutions to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Function as the primary point of contact for client.
  • Support customer audits and visits to Rand’s facilities.

Sales And Revenue Generation

  • Meet and exceed sales targets through effective negotiation and closing of deals.
  • Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure a seamless transition from lead generation to closing.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, sourcing, operations, finance, and customer support, to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to align strategies and achieve common goals.

Performance Metrics And Reporting

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the success of business development strategies.
  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitive activities.

Product Knowledge

  • Stay updated on industry trends, product developments, and technological advancement in electronic components.
  • Provide product training and support to the sales team.

Compliance And Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with business development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or related roles within the electronics components distribution industry.
  • Strong understanding of electronic components, supply chain management, and distribution processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to identify and pursue business opportunities.
  • Results-oriented with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
