Cimarron is seeking a junior-level Linux System Administrator to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO.

Cimarron is seeking a junior-level Linux System Administrator to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO.
Key Duties
- Troubleshoot and maintain Linux-based physical and virtual machines for the Missile Defense Space Center.
- Administer the OpenShift Container Platform and manage container repositories and registries.
- Collaborate with network engineers, system engineers, cybersecurity engineers, and other system administrators to deliver high-quality, innovative engineering services to the Government customer.
- Perform daily system monitoring, backups, restorals, and application upgrades to ensure continuous system operations.
- Follow established systems administration standard operating procedures.
- Manage user accounts and access to Linux systems and related equipment.
- Ensure system software installations, maintenance, break/fix activities, and cybersecurity mitigations are completed in line with established policies, procedures, and service level agreements.
- Conduct functional, security, and connectivity testing to validate the operability of Linux-based infrastructure.
- Provide support for occasional evening and weekend events for the MDA customer.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education :
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at the time.
- This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. - Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
- Active Secret Clearance (or higher).
- Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (ex., Security +).
- Current Linux Certification (ex., Linux+, RHCSA, LPIC, LFCS).
- 2 or more years of experience as a system administrator.
- Strong ability to innovate in process improvement and system design.
- Ability to quickly learn complex concepts, troubleshoot difficult software problems, and develop effective solutions.
- Ability to create and follow standard processes and document outcomes.
- Availability to report to Schriever Space Force Base within 2 hours for mission surge support events.
- Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills for effective interaction with program and government stakeholders.
- A positive, can-do attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to change.
- Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed to support mission success.
- Strong understanding of system administration concepts.
- Knowledge of Linux system administration.
