Financial Reporting & Close:
- Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
- Direct and manage the close calendar to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent reporting
- Drive a structured and efficient close process with a target of completion within 5 business days
- Lead all aspects of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and financial consolidations
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance
- Develop and enforce scalable accounting policies, procedures, and standard operating practices
- Introduce and oversee quality control processes to ensure accuracy and completeness in reporting
- Coordinate with Operations, IT, and other functions to implement process improvements that increase accuracy and efficiency in transaction processing
- Lead annual financial audit and tax preparation processes in collaboration with external firms
- Resolve technical accounting issues and maintain compliance with applicable regulations and reporting requirements
- Ensure the organization is audit-ready at all times, with documentation and support readily available
- Build and lead a high-performing accounting team that supports long-term retention
- Develop team capabilities through structured coaching, regular feedback, and clear career development planning
- Promote a culture of excellence by setting clear expectations and supporting the team to consistently deliver high-quality, accurate work with ownership and accountability
- Lead weekly team Tactical Meetings to drive alignment, review progress on key priorities, resolve challenges, and foster team accountability
- Conduct weekly 1:1 check-ins with each team member to provide targeted support, reinforce development goals, and maintain strong performance momentum
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and development—including support for CPA/CMA certification and technical upskilling
- Ensure the team is well-versed in evolving GAAP, tax, and regulatory standards through ongoing training and resource sharing
- Encourage cross-training and knowledge sharing to reduce key-person risk and increase team resilience and flexibility
- Cultivate leadership in others by delegating strategically and offering stretch assignments to expand ownership and capability
- Demonstrate a leadership mindset and commit to ongoing growth through active participation in leadership development and management programs
- Partner with Finance, Operations, and Technology teams to support business growth and system integrations (e.g., expense management, credit cards, banking tools)
- Support integration and optimization of key systems to enhance the finance function’s effectiveness
- Lead or contribute to special projects related to business expansion, cost accounting, or policy implementation

- This role manages a team of accounting professionals and is responsible for hiring, training, coaching, and performance management to ensure high levels of team engagement, accountability, and execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or MBA not required but preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a Controller or similar leadership role.
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Direct experience leading or contributing to a 5-day close process.
- Exceptional Excel and analytical skills.
- Experience with reporting tools and dashboards a plus.
- Demonstrated success in scaling accounting processes in a high-growth environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
