Job Summary:
Banner Engineering is a leader in industrial automation, offering innovative products and solutions to enhance efficiency and safety. The Applications Engineer role involves providing technical support, collaborating with sales teams to develop custom solutions, and assisting with product training for both internal and external audiences.
Responsibilities:
• Providing technical consultation and product support service to Banner Area Sales Managers, Field Sales Representatives, distributors, and customers
• Managing multiple priorities including incoming phone calls, emails, chats and responding to direct sales team member communications
• Collaborating with Engineering staff to develop technical modifications to existing products to meet unique application requirements
• Conducting in-house tests to solve real-life customer applications
• Support proof-of-concept builds and pre-sales technical evaluations in collaboration with the sales team
• Assisting with product training for internal and external audiences, both in-person and remotely
• Supporting the sales regions with tasks such as vetting and processing, product returns with technical issues (RMA) requests, price, and availability
• Utilizing the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to input and maintain complete, accurate, and timely entries of technical summaries, customer information, and sales opportunities for all cases worked
• Providing timely follow-up as needed to Banner Area Sales Managers, Field Sales Representatives, distributors, and customers
• Serving as production application expert for sales and interdisciplinary projects
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Mathematics, Physics
Preferred:
• 0-4 years of experience in technical assistance, product service, sales, or related field
• Experience delivering product training
• Experience working within an industrial automation environment
• Technical knowledge of electronics & PLC's
• Customer support experience
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Ability to travel domestically to attend trade shows or visit customer locations as needed
• Strong desire to understand how things work
• Proficient in multiple languages
