Talos Energy is a leading offshore energy company focused on offshore oil and gas exploration and production in the United States Outer Continental Shelf, Gulf of America.
Talos Energy is seeking an experienced Regulatory Specialist to provide permitting and regulatory compliance expertise. This role requires collaboration with technical/legal/land for input/support required for the permitting process to submit applications to the USCG, BSEE, BOEM, PHMSA and USACE.
Duties & Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for permitting and regulatory compliance activities at Talos Energy including but not limited to:
Talos Energy is seeking an experienced Regulatory Specialist to provide permitting and regulatory compliance expertise. This role requires collaboration with technical/legal/land for input/support required for the permitting process to submit applications to the USCG, BSEE, BOEM, PHMSA and USACE.
Duties & Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for permitting and regulatory compliance activities at Talos Energy including but not limited to:
- Subject matter expert regarding all state, federal, and transportation regulations
- Ensures the company’s compliance with rules and regulations through all phases of exploration and development
- Work with multiple teams to compile information required to file permit applications
- Maintain, identify, and track regulatory requirements, submissions, and approvals
- Develop business relationships with regulatory agencies and project partners
- Communicate regulatory requirements and deadlines to the company
- On-call duties, consisting of taking calls after business hours, when appropriate
- 5+ years equivalent experience in Regulatory permitting and support, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Well-versed in the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) and the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management rules and regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and SharePoint
- Experience building relationships with regulatory agencies and project stakeholders
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Highly motivated self-starter with ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic, multi-task, customer service environment
- Knowledge of BSEE eWell & TIMSWeb applications
- None required
- Employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time and have use of arms and hands in repetitive motion. A fair amount of standing and walking is also required for the position.
