Job Summary:

Ford Motor Company is a leader in the automotive industry focused on shaping the future of mobility through advanced technology. They are seeking a visionary Group Data Product Manager to lead the strategy and execution of metadata-related products, ensuring data discoverability, governance, and quality across the organization.


Responsibilities:

• Define and execute the metadata management vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment with Ford’s broader data and analytics strategy.

• Drive adoption and continuous improvement of metadata solutions, enhancing data governance, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

• Define KPIs and success metrics to measure metadata adoption, discoverability, and quality.

• Lead the development of a Data Catalog that enables seamless search, discovery, and governance of enterprise-wide data assets.

• Oversee Data Lineage capabilities to track data movement and transformation across Ford’s diverse ecosystem.

• Implement Data Classification frameworks to categorize and tag datasets based on sensitivity, usage, and compliance requirements.

• Develop metadata governance models, ensuring metadata standardization, data stewardship, and AI-driven metadata automation.

• Ensure seamless integration of metadata products with Data Access, Data Quality, Security, and Governance solutions.

• Work closely with engineering teams to build metadata ingestion pipelines, APIs, and automation workflows.

• Partner with Data Governance, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure metadata policies align with industry standards (e.g., GDPR, DPDPA, CCPA).

• Implement best practices for metadata lifecycle management, ensuring Ford’s data assets are AI-ready and discoverable.

• Optimize metadata retrieval, scalability, and performance to support large-scale, distributed data environments.

• Enable self-service metadata discovery for data analysts, engineers, and business users.

• Work at the intersection of AI, automation, and metadata management, designing solutions that power Ford’s next-generation mobility solutions.

• Collaborate Globally: Work with cross-functional teams across engineering, governance, analytics, and business to create a world-class metadata ecosystem.

• Drive data literacy and metadata adoption, ensuring every team at Ford can easily discover and trust the data they use.

• Lead in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ford is undergoing a digital transformation—you’ll be a key leader in shaping its data foundation for the future.

• Your work will enable AI-driven insights, autonomous vehicle development, and connected car experiences, making Ford a leader in data-driven innovation.


Qualifications:


Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field or a combination of education and equivalent work experience

• 8+ years of experience working in Product Management, Product Owner or very similar roles

• 2+ years of experience leading others, preferably data analysts/engineers/developers or similar.

• 5+ years of experience within data product management, metadata management, or data governance with skills including but not limited to the following: Experience managing Data Catalog, Data Lineage, Metadata Management, or Data Classification products.

• Strong knowledge of metadata standards (DCAT, Open Metadata, Apache Atlas, Collibra, Alation, Atlan, Amundsen) and data governance frameworks.

• Experience working with big data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Kafka, Presto) and API-based integrations.


Preferred:

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field

• Data platform data center experience

• Experience working as a Data Analyst/ Engineer prior to moving into Product Manager roles

• Familiarity with data access controls, security, and privacy regulations (GDPR, DPDPA, CCPA, HIPAA).

• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to align business, engineering, and governance teams.
