Velosity Brooklyn Park is searching for a Continuous Improvement Engineer to support our manufacturing facility in Brooklyn Park, MN. The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for leading continuous improvement initiatives across the company and playing a pivotal role in driving process improvement initiatives and implementing Lean methodologies to optimize our operational efficiency and effectiveness..
This is an on-site position.
The typical pay range for this role: $75,000 - $100,000.
This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market-based pay structures. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.

Work Environment
This is a non-smoking, professional manufacturing shop with normal lighting and climate control. This position may require one to move throughout the shop and office and may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors as would be customary in an injection molding/ Precision Machining shop.

Protective Clothing Required
When in certain locations of the facility, eye and ear protection are required. Closed-toed/ Slip resistant shoes are also required in certain locations.

- Implement optimized processes to enhance efficiency and reduce cycle times.
- Proven ability to develop organized proposals outlining the return on investment (ROI) for improvement projects, including cost analysis, benefits assessment, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Lead Lean methodology implementation.
- Facilitate cross-functional improvement teams or Kaizen events.
- Possess troubleshooting skills for automated systems and program logic.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Analyze processes using data-driven approaches to identify inefficiencies and solutions to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Establish and monitor KPIs for process improvement initiatives.
- Work with leadership and key stakeholders to align strategies and prioritize improvement opportunities.
- Conduct value stream mapping and process analysis to identify and eliminate waste.
- Support the development and validation of new processes.
- Demonstrate proficiency in project management.
- Other duties assigned by Supervisor.
- Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 5-7 years of manufacturing-related experience.
- Understanding of general industrial process and control systems.
- Working knowledge of basic statistical tools.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and successfully leverage internal and external resources.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments, prioritize, and meet budgets, deadlines, and objectives.
- Ability to lead cross-functional improvement teams.
- Walking is required within the office/shop areas. Sitting, standing, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers are physical requirements. Must have correctable eyesight and good depth perception. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to walk, sit and occasionally climb and balance. Must be able to lift 30 pounds and move objects in a safe manner using proper equipment. Must have dexterity with hands.
- Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them within a timely manner (results oriented); Ability to make decisions with limited information.
