We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking General Construction Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in various construction tasks, ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently. The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality work.
This position is responsible for assisting carpenters, masons, and cement finishers, on construction tasks such as unload and load materials, erect concrete forms and ramps, mix and pour materials such as concrete, and assists in drilling and blasting, and other concrete work or other required assorted job-site duties for the completion of the project, while maintaing the highest level of safety and quality standards. Work scheduling is dependent on weather and many other variables.

General Construction Work
- Conducts and complete daily concrete or other related construction duties assigned by the Site Foreman or skiled trades person per established procedures.
- Develops a satisfactory level of proficiency and productivity in the performance of their duties.
- Perform manual work functions associated with department projects (which may include lifting/moving heavy materials, shoveling materials, picking up debris/litter, placing signage, etc.).
- Complete assigned work in a timely manner, with the best use of materials and other resources necessary to get the job done correctly.
- Utilizes provided tools and equipment in a proper manner, cleans, protects and inventories as required, according to company guidelines.
- Informs the Site Foreman as soon as possible as to what equipment/materials/tools will be required for completion of their concrete construction duties.
- Assists other employees with technical knowledge as requested.
Requirements
Preferred: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred: Construction trade experience as a laborer or other construction trade role
- A willingness to perform to the best of one’s abilities and to learn new skills.
- Must have keen attention to detail and be satisfied with only a high quality level of workmanship
- Awareness and willingness to comply with BMMI/OSHA job site safety procedures and requirements.
- Ability to consistently arrive to work at least 10 minutes prior to shift starting time on a regular basis, and work irregular hours, weekends and overtime hours, when required.
- An ability to perform physical labor, including the ability to carry heavy loads, climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and high platforms.
- Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools
- Ability to work in Adverse Conditions: While performing the essential duties of this position, the employee will be working primarily outdoors in an open air environment at customer job sites which may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, fumes, airborne particles, electric currents, toxic agents, wetness, humidity, rain, and temperature above 90 degrees.
