Arkwright Construction LLC is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Home Remodeling Project Manager to lead high-end residential remodeling projects from pre-construction through completion. In this vital role, you'll manage schedules, coordinate trades, communicate with homeowners, and uphold the quality and integrity Arkwright is known for. Key Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight & Scheduling
    • Develop and maintain project schedules using Buildertrend
    • Coordinate subcontractors, in-house carpenters, deliveries, and job sequencing
    • Track lead times and ensure materials and decisions are aligned with progress
    • Conduct regular jobsite walkthroughs to monitor timelines and flag issues
  • Communication & Client Experience
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners
    • Maintain respectful and transparent communication with clients and partners
    • Send weekly progress updates, including milestones and photos
    • Proactively manage expectations and address concerns
  • Team Leadership & Coordination
    • Guide daily fieldwork with site leads, carpenters, and apprentices
    • Communicate design details and scope to field teams
    • Uphold Arkwright's quality standards on every job
    • Resolve trade coordination issues and maintain field alignment
  • Problem Solving & Decision Making
    • Anticipate and resolve construction, scheduling, or logistical challenges
    • Address layout conflicts, material changes, or unforeseen site conditions
    • Collaborate with ownership and designers on clarifications and change orders
    • Provide steady, confident leadership in moments of stress or complexity
  • Documentation & Budget Tracking
    • Review plans, scopes, and contracts in detail
    • Track budgets, approve timecards, and manage job costs
    • Maintain clear project documentation in Buildertrend
    • Ensure all change orders and approvals are properly communicated
  • Closeout & Follow-up
    • Manage punch lists and oversee final walkthroughs
    • Schedule inspections and prepare the job for homeowner turnover
    • Coordinate follow-up visits and warranty check-ins at 3 and 11 months
Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in residential remodeling or construction project management
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Familiarity with building codes, construction plans, and sequencing
  • Proficient with Buildertrend or similar software (or eager to learn)
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans
  • Valid driver's license and dependable transportation

Schedule

  • Full-Time - Monday to Friday
  • (Some schedule flexibility may be required based on project needs)

Location

  • Office-based and on-site project management throughout the Chicagoland area.
