Job Summary:
Responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials, equipment, and services necessary for the company's operations. Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure purchases are cost-effective, high quality, delivered on time, and compliant with company policies and industry standards. Manage inventory Min/Max levels for branches to optimize stock turns while reducing excess inventory. Requires strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and evaluate cost-effective methods to procure materials, equipment, and services to maximize margin.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
  • Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure the best deals.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and ensure timely replenishment of stock.
  • Manage material Min/Max levels for assigned branches to optimize inventory turns and reduce excess stock.
  • Monitor stock levels across locations and coordinate internal transfers as needed.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders accurately and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Process Return to Vendor (RTV) transactions in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure purchased materials and equipment meet company standards and specifications.
  • Communicate status updates regarding late deliveries, cost changes, and supplier issues to Project Managers and relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage supplier performance through scorecards and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent quality and service.
  • Own and report on Purchase Price Variance (PPV) metrics.
  • Conduct cost analysis and market trend reviews to identify savings and optimize purchasing decisions.
  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Address and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Communicate status of late deliveries and cost increases with Project Managers
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in management, supply chain, or a related field, plus a minimum of 3 years relevant experience; OR minimum of 5 years purchasing experience in lieu of degree.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with purchasing software and inventory management systems.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of market trends, supplier sourcing strategies, and cost analysis.
  • Familiarity with the construction or electrical contracting industries.
  • Certification in purchasing or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM).
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Frequent use of telephone and computer for communication.
  • Occasional lifting of office supplies, files, and equipment up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to move freely around the office to access files, equipment, and interact with team members.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear and occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
