Job Overview

Pilkington Construction Co. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to drive the successful planning, coordination, and execution of complex construction projects. In this role, you will collaborate closely with project managers, superintendents, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.

This position requires a proven technical background, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of construction processes-from preconstruction through closeout. You will oversee project documentation, scheduling, procurement, and quality assurance, while mentoring junior team members and contributing to a culture of excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with project managers and superintendents to ensure smooth and efficient project execution.
  • Manage and track submittals, RFIs, change orders, procurement logs, and project schedules.
  • Oversee document control systems for accurate and timely distribution of drawings, specifications, and revisions.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues and keep projects on schedule.
  • Review project drawings/specifications to identify scope gaps, conflicts, and constructability issues.
  • Assist with schedule updates, look-ahead planning, and coordination meetings.
  • Review cost reports and assist in managing project budgets and forecasts.
  • Lead project meetings, prepare detailed meeting minutes, and track follow-up items.
  • Support quality control and safety initiatives alongside field teams.
  • Mentor junior engineers on best practices and company standards.
  • Oversee project closeout, including as-builts, warranty documentation, and owner turnover.

Qualifications

  • Required:
    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
    • 5+ years of experience in construction project engineering or management (healthcare, commercial, or industrial preferred).
    • Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, codes, and industry standards.
    • Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and Microsoft Excel.
    • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Understanding of contracts, change management, and risk mitigation.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience with Design-Build, CMAR, or public works projects.
    • OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety credentials.

Schedule

  • Full-time, Monday-Friday.
  • Occasional overtime as project demands.

Work Location

  • Office-based and field-based in Yuma, AZ, with periodic site visits.
  • Travel to project sites as needed.
