Job Overview

WilliamSmith Fireplaces of SC, LLC is seeking an experienced and motivated Builder Sales Representative to drive revenue growth through strong customer relationships, strategic sales initiatives, and exceptional account management. In this role, you will work directly with residential and commercial builders, as well as homeowners involved in major renovations, to understand project requirements, prepare estimates, and guide projects from concept to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Sales Generation & Account Management
    • Research, identify, and solicit new builder and renovation customers
    • Actively manage and grow existing builder accounts
    • Develop strong relationships by understanding customer project needs, budgets, and timelines
    • Conduct job site visits as needed to review plans and ensure accuracy of project details
  • Project & Estimate Preparation
    • Prepare professional estimates, proposals, and purchase orders
    • Coordinate closely with internal installation teams to ensure smooth project execution
    • Review plans, specifications, and manuals to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Industry & Product Knowledge
    • Maintain proficiency in WilliamSmith product offerings, market trends, and competitor products
    • Stay informed about industry developments in fireplaces, fire suppression, and HVAC systems
    • Collaborate with other departments to resolve customer issues quickly and effectively
  • Compliance & Administrative
    • Follow company policies, pricing guidelines, and credit procedures
    • Maintain accurate records in CRM and related software
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications

  • Proven sales experience in construction-related fields, preferably fireplaces, fire suppression, or HVAC
  • Knowledge of the building process and construction materials
  • Ability to read and comprehend installation and end-user manuals
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
  • Comfortable navigating active construction sites
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, estimating software, and accounting programs such as QuickBooks Enterprise or similar

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma required; additional education in construction, sales, or business is a plus
  • Minimum 3 years of sales experience in a commercial construction-related role

Schedule

  • Full-time position
  • Standard Monday-Friday schedule, with longer days during peak 'burn season'
