Human Resources Business Partner
Crucial Hire

About the Company
We are conducting a confidential search for a nationally respected organization with a multi-state footprint and a long-standing legacy in professional services and public-impact work. With 800+ employees and continued expansion through strategic partnerships and acquisitions, the company is at a pivotal moment—modernizing how it manages people, culture, and growth. Travel will include visits to locations in the Midwest, South, and West Coast. You’ll join a high-integrity, purpose-driven HR team rewriting outdated playbooks and welcoming fresh, strategic ideas.
About the Role

You’ll have visibility across the organization and direct access to decision-makers, working with functional leaders to guide organizational design, employee relations, and workforce planning during a time of transformation. If you excel at connecting culture with business goals, spotting patterns in data and behavior, and solving complex people challenges, this role is designed for you.

- Attend weekly business unit meetings, providing real-time HR insights to drive alignment and accountability.
- Understand the unique goals and challenges of each department and tailor HR strategies accordingly.
People Analytics & HR Operations
- Use KPIs and trends (turnover, time-to-fill, performance distribution) to identify blind spots and recommend improvements.
- Participate in recruiting strategy sessions and help remove barriers to hiring.
- Partner with the HR Director to ensure compensation decisions are data-backed and aligned with internal equity.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Lead complex employee relations investigations with objectivity, speed, and proper documentation.
- Maintain strong knowledge of federal and multi-state employment laws, including California compliance.
- Collaborate with legal and HR leadership to mitigate risk, update policies, and handle sensitive matters.
Talent Development & Engagement
- Influence performance management, cultural initiatives, and succession planning.
- Coach managers on leadership best practices, communication, and accountability.
- Assess existing HR programs and recommend enhancements for consistency, fairness, and impact.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including direct partnership with senior-level leaders.
- Experience in multi-site or multi-entity organizations with complex structures.
- Strong analytical skills balanced with a people-first mindset.
- Proven experience managing employee relations, organizational change, and compensation strategy.
- Thrives in transformation—able to make progress without a detailed roadmap.
