We are looking for a passionate and energetic Youth Sports Instructor to lead short, in-school physical activity sessions for pre-school-aged children (ages 3–5). This is a contract-based position ideal for individuals with experience in early childhood, coaching, or fitness who are excited to introduce young children to the joy of movement and a variety of sports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate sessions focusing on general fitness and multi-sport activities.
- Adapt instruction to accommodate different learning styles and energy levels in preschool-aged participants.
- Build a positive, inclusive environment that encourages participation, teamwork, and confidence.
- Communicate effectively with school staff and manage transitions smoothly.
- Maintain safety, supervision, and classroom management throughout each session.
- Transport and manage basic equipment as needed.
- Follow a flexible schedule that may change based on school contracts.
- This is a 1099 independent contractor role—ideal for those seeking flexible part-time work during weekday daytime hours.
- Sessions are generally 30–45 minutes and may be scheduled at multiple schools per day, depending on demand.
- Contracts and schedules may vary and are subject to change throughout the year.
- Experience working with children ages 3–5 in a sports, education, or recreation setting.
- Strong knowledge of general fitness principles and multiple youth sports (soccer, basketball, obstacle courses, etc.).
- Excellent communication and group management skills.
- Reliable transportation and punctuality are a must.
- Must pass a background check (or be willing to obtain one).
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Physical Education, Exercise Science, or related field.
- Previous experience as a coach, instructor, or youth program leader.
- Ability to work independently with confidence and a professional demeanor.
