As ASC continues to grow, we are looking for a Vice President of Learning Innovation to add to our service-minded team. As a transformative leader, you'll take the reins of a high-visibility role that demands more than the ordinary. Your drive to excel and passion for keeping our training engine humming efficiently while cultivating excellence in others will set the stage for our collective success.
Summary: The VP of Learning Innovation, a key member of the leadership team, manages the Program Administration/Development, Content Services, and Instructor Management for a growing, multi-million-dollar non-profit training provider .
The ideal candidate will bring to the position integrity, strong analytical skills, exceptional communication skills, strong leadership, ability to collaborate with leaders within and outside of the company, and enthusiasm for Alliance Safety Council’s distinctive mission. The candidate will also ensure that all organizational initiatives are in line with and reflect Alliance’s core values.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position requires supervision and oversight of all Program Administration/Development, Content Services, and Instructor Management departments.

Program Administration/Development
While performing the duties of the VP of Learning Innovation, the employee must be able to regularly stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop and kneel and view computer monitor for extended periods and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Mental Demands While performing the duties of VP of Learning Innovation, the employee must be able to function in a high-pressure environment and meet stringent deadlines for completing tasks; prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously; and deadlines in a stressful and fast-paced environment.
Work Schedule: The work schedule of the VP of Learning Innovation is Monday – Friday, 8 hours a day, and occasional weekend work (i.e.—trainings, assistance with events). Travel will consist of 40% of job function.

Job Responsibilities
Program Administration/Development
- Manage the content development of new programs and provide periodic review and updates to the content of all existing Alliance Safety Council (ASC) programs.
- Collaborate with other departments as needed during the implementation of new and updated versions of all ASC global programs.
- Identify other readily available training that meets industry standards and needs that can be delivered through web-based, instructor-led training programs as well as identifying software and hardware driven Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality platforms to incorporate into ASC offerings.
- Serve as Director of the Mid-South OSHA Training Institute Education Center (MidSouth OTI).
- Oversee final review and approval of administrative policies and procedures for MidSouth OTI and COSS programs.
- Work with the marketing team to:
- Communicate upcoming class schedules for use in promoting and filling class registrations.
- Provide review and approval of advertised course scheduling.
- Develop and deliver content for use in marketing and informational presentations using PowerPoint, video, or direct demo links from ASC’s proprietary LMS
- Provide key knowledge related to the promotion of global programs (i.e. target audience or need the course addresses)
- Assist with identifying events to promote global programs
- Evaluate current program results; identify gaps; monitor competitive products; and analyze and relay customer feedback on courses
- Provide oversight and direction for the hiring and firing of all departmental staff.
- Direct managerial staff through coaching, mentoring, and identifying appropriate professional development opportunities.
- Supervise travel for conferences, expositions, and presentations to potential companies.
- Budget and approve conference attendance for team
- Participate in internal cross-departmental meetings and/or strategy sessions to provide project management, knowledge, input, and actions to assist with growth/expansion opportunities.
- Review financials for all programs, including developing and maintaining budget and identifying target revenue and expense budget.
- Collect information, data and trends for analysis and summarization as it relates to program effectiveness (i.e. time to complete, average completion scores, frequently missed questions, etc.)
- Assist with external audits by gathering data, preparing final report submissions, meeting with auditors, and by ensuring compliance with audit requirements for certifications/recognitions.
- Provide ongoing training, consultation, coaching and capacity-building support to other training providers and partners.
- Attend industry events as needed to raise awareness of Alliance Safety Council programs.
- Support and participate in local, regional, and national event planning related to programs and in support of Alliance Safety Council initiatives (i.e. LA Safety and Health Conference, ASSP, etc.).
- Plan and execute a content strategy that drives high participant engagement, and transfer and application of new learning.
- Manage the distribution of content across appropriate channels.
- Collaborate with organizational partners to deliver best in class content on time and within budget.
- Collect, monitor and analyze current trends and research in professional learning, and make improvements to content accordingly.
- Define project staff, contract staff, technical requirements, features, and functions of all Content Development projects.
- Manage and coach all other team members, including identifying professional development opportunities for staff and have the resources they need to provide cutting edge training solutions.
- Attend various internal meetings, as necessary, regarding product strategy, development, and client relations.
- Collaborate with the Instructor Manager to develop the strategy for the identification and hiring/contracting of instructors
- For ASC and non-ASC contract instructors, ensure:
- Appropriate organizational and individual training and development needs are met
- Contractual amendments are implemented
- Contractual agreements are renewed as necessary
- Evaluate instructor compensation periodically to ensure alignment with current industry instructor pay rates.
- Ensure instructor credentials are compliant with internal and external program guidelines.
- Provide opportunities for coaching, mentoring, and professional development for ASC and non-ASC instructors.
- Manage special projects as assigned by CEO.
- Represent ASC in various industry organizations as it relates to safety and curriculum development.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Instructional or Educational Technology preferred.
- 5 years of design, development, utilization, management, and evaluation of instructional or educational technology.
- 5 years of successful project management experience including strategic planning, resource allocation, and coordination of people and resources.
- Ability to create a departmental vision and deliver a change management program around that vision.
- Ability to evaluate and provide strategic advice on the financial impact of the introduction of new programs/strategies.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Strong team building and management experience. Ability to groom talent and position department managers for positive career growth with defined paths.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proven strategic thinker who seeks pragmatic, creative solutions to challenges.
- Ability to negotiate and collaborate with leaders within and outside of Alliance Safety Council.
