Software Development Intern

The Software Development Intern will support the design, development, and maintenance of the Detroit Pistons’ internal web application that serves all areas of Basketball Operations. This role plays a key part in the team’s technological initiatives by helping build and enhance tools that inform and improve basketball-related decision-making.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Support ongoing development of a centralized internal web application used by Basketball Operations personnel
• Collaborate with various departments—including coaching, scouting, analytics, and player personnel—to gather requirements and implement application features
• Write clean, maintainable code using C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SQL
• Work with databases and data pipelines using tools such as pgAdmin4 and Databricks
• Assist in debugging, testing, and deploying application updates
• Perform additional duties as assigned in support of Basketball Operations technology needs
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• Rising junior, senior, or recent graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts and software development fundamentals
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to evolving project needs
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
