Position Summary
As a Centralized Dispatch Manager, you will lead the daily operations of our centralized dispatch center, overseeing a team of 25 dispatchers and 2 supervisors serving primarily our internal team of drivers. In this high-impact role, you will set and monitor performance metrics, control operational costs, and drive process improvements that boost productivity, safety, and service quality. You’ll collaborate closely with sales, customer service, and operations to solve challenges, streamline efficiencies, and maintain exceptional customer satisfaction.
Your Impact:
We’re looking for a leader with a strong background in dispatch operations, fleet coordination, and transportation management who thrives in fast-paced, ever-changing environments. Proficiency in dispatch software, routing systems, and transportation management systems (TMS) is a must, along with sharp analytical skills to interpret data, make informed decisions, and implement solutions that deliver measurable results.
Location: Based in Baldwin Park, CA — supporting teams across Southern California.
Travel: Occasional travel required to WM sites throughout the Southern California region.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned as required.
Manages the day-to-day operations of centralized dispatch.
Assists in meeting districts residential, commercial, and roll off efficiency goals.
Communicates roll off capacity to districts.
Ensures district rosters are reported to central dispatch daily.
Develops, implements, and maintains processes, procedures, and programs to improve safety, productivity, and profitability of the site.
Maintains and understands Service Machine standards.
Runs daily Service Machine reports to verify recovery and carryover percentages.
Delivers verbal and written disciplinary action to employees when necessary.
Conducts performance reviews for employees using the PDS process and other appropriate performance management tools.
Recruits, selects, hires and ensures training of dispatch employees.
Performs other duties as assigned.
III. Supervisory Responsibilities
This job will have oversight of 25 dispatchers and 2 supervisors.
IV. Qualifications

A. Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant work experience.
Experience: Two years of supervisory or management experience (in addition to education requirement).
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
None required.
C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
Proficiency using computer applications to record, analyze, and report information
Work experience resolving human resource and labor relations issues.

The expected base pay range for this hybrid position is $85,790 -$98,900. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive pay.
