Job Summary: The Information Security Analyst Intern will be responsible with assisting in the identification and reporting all security issues, prioritizing threats, and confirming threats have been mitigated in accordance with company standards. You will also be training other developers on security best practices, and assisting with code reviews.
Viable candidates must be willing to work onsite at GSI's headquarters in Palm Harbor, Florida daily.

Requirements
Key skills:
- Assistance with the deployment and upkeep of the information security department’s security infrastructure.
- Assist with forensics analysis and fact gathering.
- Assist with vulnerability assessments and penetration testing for specific applications, services, networks and servers as required.
- Assist with applications/tools including but not limited to SIEM, IPS, Netflow, e-mail gateway protection, and DLP tools.
- Analyzing and responding to findings appropriately, potentially during after-hours, based on the criticality
- Monitor and/or administer one or more Information Security tools
- Basic knowledge of one or more of the following Database Environments: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, DB2 and MySQL.
- Basic knowledge of Industry Standards, e.g., ISO 17799/27001, FISMA/FedRAMP, NIST Publications and other Industry Related Security Standards.
- Must have an educational understanding of computer intrusion activities, incident response techniques, tools, and procedures
- Basic knowledge of digital forensics methodology as well as security architecture, system administration, and networking (including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SMTP)
- Knowledge of operating systems including Linux/Unix and Windows
- Currently enrolled in either A.S., B.S., or M.S. program at an University
- Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail
- Must be action-oriented and have a proactive approach to solving issues
- Sitting for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Perform other duties as assigned
