Data Network Technician

There is currently one opening located in the Information Technology Department (working 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 12 months per year). BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Administrative Director II, Information Technology, design, configure, implement and troubleshoot LAN/WLAN, VOIP and telecommunications systems, ensure security and inter/intra network accessibility; provide assistance to staff and faculty regarding network issues; install, maintain and troubleshoot firewall and network security functions; monitor network and application performance to assure quality of service; remove and replace network equipment as required; install, and repair associated cabling and peripheral equipment; design, configure, implement and troubleshoot networking solutions and cybersecurity measures to ensure robust and secure network operations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to associate's degree in computer science or related field and two years increasingly responsible experience in the installation and maintenance of routers, data network switches and associated software and peripheral equipment. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid California Driver's License
