Primary Objectives
- Drive monthly Sales Tax compliance operations and contribute to critical Property Tax functions that ensure organizational success
- Support the preparation of Canadian GST/HST Tax Returns, gaining valuable international tax experience
- Partner with experienced team members and business units on sales/use and property tax audits, developing your audit expertise
- Analyze and respond to state and local notices and requests from taxing authorities, building your problem-solving and communication skills
- Review and evaluate property tax assessments and tax bills, ensuring accuracy and identifying potential savings opportunities
- Conduct comprehensive tax research and stay current with evolving tax and regulatory law changes, expanding your technical expertise
- Deliver property and sales/use tax guidance and support to internal business units, establishing yourself as a trusted tax resource
- Build cross-functional relationships by collaborating with diverse departments throughout the organization
- Gain hands-on experience with tax incentive projects, exploring exciting opportunities in strategic tax planning
- Take on dynamic special projects as opportunities arise, broadening your skill set and demonstrating your versatility
Requirements/ Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field; or equivalent amount of relevant work experience
- Entry level experience in Sales and Property Tax (new grad to 1+ year experience)
- Strong desire to work in the Indirect Tax field
- Strong PC skills including MS Office
- Basic Knowledge of working with tax software applications (Corp Tax, PTMS, OneSource, CCH, BNA) preferred, SAP experience a plus
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving ability, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage process flow, multiple projects, and meet deadlines within strict time parameters
- Ability to be organized and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work as an individual and in a team-oriented environment with a high level of integrity and professionalism
