Job Summary____________________________________________________________________

As a member of the Development team, the Director of Corporate Partnerships leads and oversees all activities related to corporate and foundation giving, as well as donations through government and private grants and other institutional programs at Overture Center for the Arts. Reporting to the Co-CEO & Chief Development Officer, this position manages a portfolio of 100–120 current and prospective donors, including prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship to raise at least $300,000 annually from corporations, corporate foundations, and corporate leaders. The Director also develops strategies to attract and maintain corporate partnerships and grants, and, in collaboration with an external grant writer, facilitates at least $200,000 annually in grant support. This role contributes to the creation of the annual fundraising plan, develops and evaluates strategies to maximize revenue and donor value, and ensures all proposals, reports, and partner recognition are delivered accurately and on time. Occasional evening and weekend duties are required, including special events and donor engagement activities.

Roles & Responsibilities_____________________________________________________________

  • Develop objectives, priorities, and strategies for corporate, sponsorship and foundation development, including working collaboratively on annual revenue and expense budgets.
  • Manage a portfolio of 100-120 corporate, foundation, agency, and government prospects and donors to advance them through the development process. Maintain personal contact and relationships with decision makers and program staff. Record donor meeting notes in CRM.
  • Retain and cultivate existing institutional giving partners by overseeing administration of partner benefits, executing sponsorship fulfillment, and developing stewardship communications.
  • Oversee proper partner recognition across departments for all external communications.
  • Lead sponsorship solicitation and commitments for events, programs and activities, raising at least $300,000 through in-kind and cash corporate partnerships annually. Serve as the internal lead for in-kind giving, working across the organization to appropriately solicit, record, recognize and steward in-kind giving relationships.
  • Collaborate with Development Committee and Board on corporate and foundation giving opportunities, assessing ongoing relationships, identifying mutual opportunities and benefits and implementing new initiatives to leverage additional support.
  • Engage corporate, foundation and grant partners in Overture’s work through development events and programming. Represent Overture at development events.
  • Work collaboratively to develop and support the success of campaigns, including annual match campaign, capital campaign, and others as needed.
  • Write partnership proposals to match needs/opportunities with interests and capabilities.
  • Ensure grant proposals and reports are executed on time by working both with an external grant writer and personally executing grants, as necessary.
  • Collaborate with and provide support to the Co-CEO & CDO for all strategic initiatives and administrative needs.
  • Attend external events and meetings as a representative of Overture Center, including participating in local civic, business and professional associations.
  • Participate in professional development by participating in professional associations, seminars, training and self-directed research/study to keep abreast of trends and new developments in institutional giving and/or develop new skills and knowledge.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

The salary range for this role is $75,000 - $90,000 commensurate with experience.

Qualifications____________________________________________________________________

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and related experience.
  • 5 years’ experience in fundraising or sales, preferably experience securing cash and in-kind sponsorships from corporate clients.
  • Demonstrated grant writing experience.

  • Proven experience in fundraising using cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to engage corporate partners, foundations, grant agencies, and individual donors with an inclusive and energetic approach.

  • Proficiency with project coordination, using project management tools to track plans, budgets, and outcomes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Windows environments, and CRM software (Tessitura and/or development software preferred).
  • Knowledge and appreciation of the performing arts.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing while working on a computer or attending meetings
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate computers, phones, or related equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through video conferencing platforms
  • Ability to move throughout the facility to attend meetings or provide support
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 50 pounds during program setup or event support
  • Visual acuity to read and produce documents, observe equipment, and monitor displays

Work Environment

  • Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment with standard lighting, temperature, and equipment
  • Regular on-site presence is required to support program operations, attend meetings, and respond to time-sensitive needs
  • The role may involve occasional work in performance venues with increased activity or moderate noise
  • Frequent interaction with staff, vendors, artists, and community partners is essential to the role
  • Flexibility in hours may be required during special events, installations, or other high-demand periods
