This is a pivotal role for an experienced analytics professional who wants to shape the future of business intelligence at scale. You'll be instrumental in establishing our Power BI practice, creating frameworks that enable self-service analytics, and mentoring business stakeholders to become sophisticated BI practitioners. This isn't just about building dashboards—it's about architecting scalable solutions and driving organizational change.

Strategic Leadership (25%)
Required Experience:
You'll report to the Sr. Manager of Data Intelligence and work as an individual contributor with significant autonomy. While you won't have direct reports, you'll have substantial influence through your mentoring and framework development work across the organization.

- An architect designing scalable frameworks that enable enterprise-wide self-service analytics
- A consultant working across diverse business domains to solve complex analytical challenges
- A teacher mentoring others and elevating the organization's overall BI maturity
- A strategist identifying opportunities and driving continuous improvement initiatives
Strategic Leadership (25%)
- Define and implement BI best practices, standards, and governance frameworks across the organization
- Identify opportunities to improve our analytics capabilities and maturity
- Contribute to the strategic roadmap for our federated BI transformation
- Collaborate with senior leadership on enterprise-wide analytics initiatives
- Work directly with early adopters across Finance, Security, Operations, IT, Platform Governance, Customer Service, Product, and other business domains
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable, performant BI solutions
- Mentor business users to develop self-service analytics capabilities
- Guide teams through the migration from legacy tools (Superset, Tableau, Business Objects) to Power BI
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and build internal BI expertise across the organization
- Design and implement sophisticated data models optimized for performance and usability
- Design and architect robust semantic layers that serve as the foundation for enterprise reporting
- Create compelling dashboards and visualizations that drive business decisions
- Write high-performance SQL and optimize data pipelines for BI consumption
- Implement security frameworks including row-level security for sensitive data access
Required Experience:
- Active Secret (or higher) security clearance
- 5+ years of advanced SQL development and optimization
- 5+ years with modern BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.)
- 3+ years of hands-on Power BI development and administration
- 3+ years designing and implementing SQL-based data models
- Proven track record working directly with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver scalable solutions
- Experience translating business needs into technical specifications and actionable deliverables
- Experience with dbt Cloud for data transformation and modeling
- Background in designing enterprise semantic layers and data marts
- Expertise implementing row-level security and data governance in BI environments
- Experience collaborating with data engineering teams and understanding data pipeline architectures
- Familiarity with data lakehouse architectures and modern data stack components
- Experience with Starburst (Trino) for high-performance analytics
- AWS cloud platform experience
- Apache Superset knowledge (helpful for our migration efforts)
- Airflow experience for understanding upstream data dependencies
