Position Summary
Sanofi’s contingent workforce program, FLEXT Direct, is seeking a Scientist II to join a team focused on the development of novel gene therapy technologies for ocular diseases. This is a lab-based role involving cutting-edge research to advance therapeutic candidates from discovery through IND-enabling studies.

Position Summary
Sanofi’s contingent workforce program, FLEXT Direct, is seeking a Scientist II to join a team focused on the development of novel gene therapy technologies for ocular diseases. This is a lab-based role involving cutting-edge research to advance therapeutic candidates from discovery through IND-enabling studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead research projects supporting the identification and development of gene therapy therapeutic candidates.
- Design and execute proof-of-concept studies.
- Initiate and manage scientific activities and projects, applying expertise to drive innovation and meet project milestones.
- Deliver high-quality experimental design and data in a time-sensitive manner.
- Collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams and contribute meaningfully to project teams.
- PhD in molecular/cellular biology, neuroscience, or related discipline with 0–2 years of postdoctoral experience,
- OR Master’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in an academic or biopharmaceutical setting.
- Strong background in molecular biology laboratory techniques.
- Experience or background in gene therapy (preferred).
- Proven ability to prepare high-quality technical reports, presentations, and experimental protocols.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Fast learner, detail-oriented, and able to adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Minimum 1 year of industry experience (biotech/pharma), which can include internships, co-ops, or collaborative projects.
- Basic familiarity with preclinical therapeutic pipelines.
- Ability to meet project timelines and contribute to multiple ongoing initiatives.
