Job Title: Family Well-Being Coordinator

Reports to: Senior Director, Family Well-being

Department: Children & Family Services

Pay : $30-$35 hr

Length of Position: Temporary (Estimated end date June 30, 2026)

The Family Well-being Coordinator is a bilingual (English/Spanish) 10-month temporary position supporting families enrolled in Community Action Marin’s (CAM) state-funded early childhood classrooms, while also contributing to broader Family Well-being programming. Serving as a vital link between families, classroom staff, and community resources, this role helps ensure all licensing requirements and family engagement efforts are met for approximately 10–15 classrooms as well as general administrative support for the team. The Coordinator supports enrollment paperwork, documentation compliance, and connects families with critical services related to housing, food security, health, and mental health. Additionally, the Coordinator assists with family outreach, communication, event logistics, and administrative tasks aligned with CAM’s commitment to equity and holistic family support. The ideal candidate brings cultural responsiveness, organizational skills, and a passion for strengthening family well-being through collaborative, community-centered work.

Primary Responsibilities

75% Family Engagement & Success (State Classrooms): The Family Well-being Coordinator will support families enrolled in the CAM program, particularly those who are enrolled in the state-funded classrooms. Below are the primary responsibilities:

  • Support the enrollment and paperwork for children enrolled in the state-funded classrooms.
  • Support the tracking and monitoring of completed requirements for the state-funded classrooms.
  • Ensure all state-funded children have up to date licensing files.
  • Supports whole families in linking them to needed community services and resources for challenges such as food insecurity, housing instability, domestic violence, and health, mental health and nutrition education.
  • Supports communication with families for children with identified exceptional rights.
  • Collaborates with Health & Nutrition teams for those who need.
  • Supports the data collection of the Crisis to Thriving scale.
  • Communicates family engagement events and supports logistics for in-classroom events.
  • Collaborates with teaching staff, site leaders, and family advocates and other CFS teammates related to program-wide goals.

25% Family Well-being Program Support: The Family Well-being Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Family Well-being team. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Contributes to the recruitment of families, including community outreach.
  • Supports the communication strategy of families including updating bulletin boards and contributing to the monthly newsletter.
  • Maintains an up to date child roster in Brightwheel application.
  • Provides administrative support for family events.
  • Supports the purchasing and distribution of materials.

Additional Expectations

Team Contribution / Collaboration

  • Is a Community Action Marin Success Coach.
  • Works closely with all staff, including teachers, Site Area Managers, Family Child Care Providers, and CFS Leadership, to promote and maintain a high level of parent/guardian participation in all classroom activities.
  • Participates in all site meetings and in-service days and additional training opportunities as applicable.
  • Builds and maintains positive and healthy relationships with CAM coworkers, clients, and community partners.
  • Collects and shares client success stories for the Development Team to use for PR, social media, annual report etc.

Compliance, Data, & Documentation

  • Maintains current documentation of referrals made, services received, goals set, progress, and objective case notes utilizing various online platforms including, but not limited to, ChildPlus, EmpowOR, and SharePoint.
  • Tracks and follow ups on referrals to ensure families are successful inside and out of the program on items such as receiving needed services, attending family engagement events, completing surveys, and more.
  • Demonstrates and follows all regulatory bodies, inlcluding Head Start Performance Standards, Title 5 regulations, California Community Care Licensing, and CAM Policies and Procedures.

Professionalism

  • Communicates effectively in both English and Spanish, providing language support for families as needed.
  • Maintains confidentiality in regards to staff and family information.
  • Adheres to work schedule, arrival, and breaks.
  • Notifies Manager prior to beginning of workday (when possible) when not able to come to work.
  • Follows health procedures including safe lifting, handwashing, and universal precautions.
  • Exhibits a positive attitude regarding the agency and the Children and Family Services program.
  • Adapts to programmatic changes with an open mind and offers a sense of possibility to the work.

Qualifications

Education /Experience:

    • AA or BA in Human Development, Sociology, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Development,
    • Social work or related field or a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or required field preferred. A minimum of two years of related work experience working with diverse low-income families is preferred.
Skills and knowledge:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish with written and oral proficiency is a requirement.
  • Must be mature, self-directed, and able to work effectively with colleagues, families, and groups of very young children from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficient computer skills and data entry experience.
  • Knowledge of how to access community resources preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain healthy boundaries with clients.
  • Time management skills.
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

Additional requirements:

  • Must receive fingerprints live scan and a Child Abuse Index Check resulting in a Criminal Record Clearance from the Department of Justice prior to being with children.
  • Successfully complete an employment physical and provide immunization record along with proof of the absence of Tuberculosis.
  • Must have valid and current California Driver’s License with clean driving record and evidence of auto and liability insurance with reliable transportation.
  • Must be willing to work occasional nights and weekends as requested, including monthly family engagement events, Parent Leadership Council meetings, and Community Action Marin pop-up events.

Physical Requirements:
