The Portland Regency Hotel & Spa is looking for a Food & Beverage Food Runner to join our team! A beautiful Historic Hotel of America located in the heart of Portland's Old Port District. This position is ineligible for J1 or H2B employment status as it is a year-round role.
Schedule: Morning Availability - primarily mornings, days, and weekends, with some night shifts depending on business needs.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Mathematical Skills
The ability to add, subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide by 10’s and 100’s. The ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
TIPS Certification or State of Maine equivalent certification of liquor laws training.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals is required. Also required is the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Lastly the ability to speak effectively and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of this organization.
Reasoning Ability
The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out one or two step instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Also, the ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional, or no variables.

Food Runner:
- Run food as quickly and efficiently as possible to the restaurant or café.
- Responsible for assisting in bringing trays of dirty dishes and glassware from wait station. Assisting in stocking wait station.
- Assist in dining room if needed, resetting tables and seating people if needed.
- To communicate with the host and servers at all times.
- To keep all work areas clean and stocked for the next shift.
- Cleaning kitchen area at the end of your shift, wiping down all surface areas.
- Put out and refill salad dressings at the beginning of lunch and dinner shift.
- Clean toaster at the end of the shift (breakfast) Clean bread area (dinner)
- To assist Room Service attendant, if needed.
