Summary:
Manage all financial aspects of the organization including oversight of the accounting team and records, analyzing results, creating budgets and financial models, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Assist with tax and treasury activities. Will provide both high level and detailed financial analysis. It should be comfortable meeting deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Advise senior leadership and the management team on all matters relating to financial performance and provide guidance on financial strategy. Be a business partner and provide open and direct feedback on alternatives and issues.
- Control all financial and accountancy matters including month end reports, cash flow management, and presentation of management information.
- Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Oversee and review accounting tasks. Define and implement accounting procedures.
- Ensure proper invoicing, credit control and revenue recognition.
- Manage SOX internal controls compliance.
- Coordinate with corporate finance and other parent departments.
- Monitor spending and creating forecasts and budgets in coordination with corporate finance and other parent departments.
- Manage month end close process.
- Review and submission of inventory reports and engine costing models. Monitor compliance with inventory count procedures.
- Review of payroll timesheets and recording of payroll.
- Prepare quarterly commission schedule.
- Manage bank accounts in coordination with Treasury.
- Manage the accounting department and provide training as appropriate.
- Prepare monthly reporting workbook, AR and AP aging detail reports, and stock reports.
- Prepare monthly Sales and COS reports.
- Assist in preparation and review of the quarterly Lower of Cost or Market impairment schedule, organize quarterly LCM meeting and prepare minutes/memo along with schedule of part costs to be adjusted for processing.
- File various returns (sales tax, franchise tax, VAT, annual reports).
- Reconcile intercompany accounts with other entities.
- Oversee all financial aspects of operational and finance systems and manage new system implementations, as needed.
- Perform other duties and ad hoc analysis as appropriate for this position.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Minimum of 10+ years recent experience in accounting and finance.
- CPA preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of US GAAP.
- Aviation or spare parts experience desired.
- Experience with cost allocation and lot performance related to Used Serviceable Material (USM).
- Experience with international operations desired.
- Ability to interact with senior executives and management team and present information to enable the organization to make the right decisions.
- Detailed oriented – able to roll up sleeves and get into every aspect of the business.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding environment and meet deadlines.
- Self-starter with initiative to identify potential issues and recommend strategies to address.
- Experience with Quantum Control is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Travel/Misc.:
- The position is at the Coconut Creek office location. The warehouse is in Pompano Beach. Meetings may be held at either site.
- Occasional travel may be required to other Willis business unit sites.
