We are looking for a highly motivated and talented Associate Requirements Engineer with a strong foundation in data science to join our team. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in defining the capabilities of our scalable cloud data platform. This platform is instrumental in enabling advanced data analysis, machine learning, and analytics specifically tailored for AD/ADAS feature development, performance optimization, and cross-functional vehicle control domains.
Leveraging your academic background and foundational experience in data science, you'll help translate complex engineering and analytical needs into clear, actionable requirements for our platform development teams. Job Responsibilities
Includes the following (other duties may be documented and assigned by local management and some duties may not apply dependent upon the requirements of the position at each specific Astemo, Americas Region site and/or the strengths of the employee and the needs of the company):
Requirements Support & Documentation: Work closely with senior engineers and product managers to assist in identifying, documenting, and prioritizing functional and non-functional requirements for the cloud data platform.
Data Science Application: Apply your data science knowledge to understand and help define requirements for data ingestion, storage, processing pipelines, analytical tools, and basic machine learning operations (MLOps) within an automotive context.
Requirements Management: Utilize requirements management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, DOORS) to maintain traceability, version control, and status of all requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
Domain Learning: Develop a deep understanding of the data types and analytical needs associated with AD/ADAS sensors (e.g., LiDAR, radar, camera), vehicle bus data (e.g., CAN, Ethernet), and vehicle control parameters.
Use Case Contribution: Help develop detailed use cases and user stories that illustrate how various engineering and data science teams will utilize the cloud platform for their data analysis and analytics goals.
Technical Bridging: Assist in translating high-level concepts into more detailed technical considerations that can inform platform development.
Collaboration: Support cross-functional collaboration, ensuring effective communication and alignment between various stakeholders.
Validation Support: Assist in defining test cases to verify implemented platform capabilities against documented requirements.
Roadmap Contribution: Contribute to the strategic roadmap of the cloud data platform, identifying future needs and opportunities based on evolving automotive technologies and data science trends.
Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with industry trends in cloud architecture, data engineering, and data science, particularly as they apply to the automotive domain.
Qualifications
The Ideal candidate will have:
Education: Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Robotics, or a related quantitative field.
Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience (including internships, research projects, or full-time roles) in software requirements, data engineering, data science, or cloud platform development.
Job level is determined by various factors such as organization size, responsibility, career stage, and capabilities.

Qualifications
The Ideal candidate will have:
- Strong academic or practical background in Data Science, including familiarity with machine learning concepts, statistical analysis, and data handling.
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and core data-related services.
- Academic project or foundational experience in the automotive industry, specifically AD/ADAS and/or vehicle control systems, is a significant plus. An understanding of vehicle data types is beneficial.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, agile development environment.
- General understanding of SDV Enablers, Zonal Network, high-performance central compute modules, automated driving, AI, machine learning, perception modules, connected mobility, MLOps, and OTA updates.
- Technical experience:
- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Kafka) through coursework or projects.
- Exposure to data governance or data quality concepts.
- Understanding of embedded systems or vehicle software development.
- Good understanding of vision systems, camera sensors, image data processing, object detection, labeling, annotation.
- V-Model, ASPICE, MISRA, ISO26262, Cybersecurity and Agile framework.
Education: Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Robotics, or a related quantitative field.
Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience (including internships, research projects, or full-time roles) in software requirements, data engineering, data science, or cloud platform development.

Working Conditions
