Production Director

Cherry Hills Community Church

Date: 6 hours ago
City: Highlands Ranch, CO
Contract type: Full time
Description

The Production Director is responsible for leading all technical production environments at Cherry Hills Community Church, ensuring every service and event is executed with excellence, clarity, and spiritual intentionality. This role oversees audio, video, lighting, and livestream systems across the campus while developing a high-performing team of staff and volunteers who serve with both technical skill and a heart for ministry.

Reporting to the Worship Pastor, the Production Director is a key leader in shaping the Sunday experience and supporting major church events—working collaboratively across ministries to bring vision to life. As a shepherd and strategist, this person will champion CHCC’s behind-the-scenes culture, disciple their team, and help connect what we do technically to why it matters spiritually. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strong work ethic, broad technical expertise (especially in AVL systems), excellent team-building skills, and a humble, servant-hearted posture that reflects the culture of CHCC.

Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in technical production for live environments, including audio, video, lighting, and broadcast systems.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams, including both staff and volunteers, in high-demand production settings.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of all major AVL systems is required; this role demands versatility across disciplines rather than specialized expertise in a single area.
  • Experience in a church or ministry production environment is strongly preferred; candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of worship culture and the technical demands of modern church services.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred but not required. Equivalent professional experience in technical production leadership will be considered in lieu of formal education.

Qualifications

  • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of Cherry Hills Community Church; able to lead in a way that reflects the heart of the church and the message of the gospel.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and team leadership skills; able to collaborate cross-functionally and lead both staff and volunteers with clarity and grace.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in production-related platforms and systems, such as Planning Center, ProPresenter, digital audio consoles, video switchers, and lighting control systems; able to learn and adapt to new tools as needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams); able to utilize standard tools for documentation, communication, and task coordination.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with common office technologies, including email, printers/copiers, shared drives, and organizational software platforms; able to troubleshoot basic issues and learn new tools quickly.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and working under pressure.
  • Available for evenings, weekends, or holidays as required.
  • Must pass a CHCC background check.
