Overview: Reporting to the Director of Accounting this role is responsible for executing a range of accounting functions including transaction processing, financial reporting, budgeting, and audit support, while contributing to month-end close and operational improvements. It requires a candidate with a strong accounting background, proficiency in IFRS and Microsoft Office, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, detail-oriented environment.

It requires a candidate with a strong accounting background, proficiency in IFRS and Microsoft Office, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, detail-oriented environment.
Your challenges:
- Process accounting transactions, posting, accrual, reconciliation and other accounting routines.
- Timely preparation of financial statements, financial schedules and other reports as necessary
- Perform month end procedures, including the review of GLs, Management Reporting Package preparation and departmental cost analysis.
- Assist on financial budgeting and forecasting
- Assist on financial audits and statutory financial statements preparation
- Assist on ad hoc projects and duties in the accounting department
- Provide accounting support to business operations, assist on process improvements and perform other duties as assigned.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office application
- A customer focused approach to dealing with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent organizational skills, strong communication skills, and attention to detail
- Possess situational awareness of surroundings with the ability to adapt to new and changing environments
- Experience with SAP is considered an asset
- Experience with the paper and pulp industry as an asset
- University degree in finance or accounting and working towards the completion of the CPA program
- 3+ years of professional accounting experience
