Typical Functions
The primary functions within this job will include, but are not limited to the following:
Must possess the ability to represent the agency in a professional manner with integrity and exhibit good people skills. Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and be able to adhere to strict guidelines. Intermediate level skills in personal computers, working in a Windows environment. Ability to successfully complete any necessary training required by the agency.
Education And Experience
Previous medical setting experience and medical terminology is a plus. Must have experience working with Windows operating system in a multiuser environment. Employees must possess and maintain mental stamina to perform the work and willingness to accept the mental discomforts inherent in the work, pass a rigid character and background investigation, be at least 21 years of age, and possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License. Must be able to deal tactfully and professionally with the public.
The primary functions within this job will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide information about the medical examiner’s office and their loved one to the family as soon after the death as possible
- Gather information from investigators and pathologist in reference to the cause of death, type of injuries, and any other information that may be released to families
- Contact family members as requested by pathologist to gather pertinent information in relation to the death
- Assist with email communication
- Serves as backup to the Receptionist as required
- data entry into vital records system
- Other administrative duties as assigned
