Position Summary
We are seeking a highly driven Director of FP&A & M&A to join our executive team in Anaheim, CA. This individual will play a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic acquisitions and financial planning initiatives. Reporting directly to the CFO, this position demands a results-oriented professional who can seamlessly lead due diligence efforts, support investor relations, enhance financial infrastructure, and provide strong operational oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Origination & Evaluation
Coordinate and manage financial, legal, tax, operational, real estate, and insurance due diligence processes. Lead preparation and delivery of key transaction materials including IC Memos, Risk Matrices, and Diligence Trackers. Oversee and optimize outsourced M&A efforts including intern team and external support (<$6k/month retainer + Lehman fee model).

Reporting directly to the CFO, this position demands a results-oriented professional who can seamlessly lead due diligence efforts, support investor relations, enhance financial infrastructure, and provide strong operational oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Origination & Evaluation
- Review and analyze 300–600 CIMs and financial packages annually to identify potential acquisition targets.
- Maintain a CIM-to-LOI conversion rate aligned with company benchmarks (target: 30–60 LOIs/year).
- Target 6–8 accepted LOIs per year, resulting in 3–4 high-quality closed deals annually.
- Drive outreach to potential customers and investment targets to convert prospects into signed agreements.
- Perform detailed financial modeling including EBITDA/EV analysis, LBO scenarios, IRR assessments, and cap table modeling.
- Evaluate working capital needs, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and capital structures for each deal.
- Support and source financing solutions (debt/equity), including structured deals and sale-leasebacks.
Investor Relations
- Serve as the point of contact for investor communications and quarterly reporting in collaboration with the Controller.
- Deliver monthly budget-to-actual performance reports and contribute to annual audits, inventory analysis, and tax planning.
- Partner with the Controller to implement AR/AP oversight policies, delegate operational financial responsibilities to OpCos.
- Manage cash flow and seller note renegotiations at both the HoldCo and OpCo levels.
- Lead the implementation and optimization of financial systems and tools (QBO, Bill.com, Ramp, etc.).
- Support OpCos with profitability tools and drive cost savings through spend analysis and vendor negotiations.
- Assume interim Controller responsibilities during transitions or new business acquisitions as needed.
- Provide regular progress updates and lead structured meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Train, mentor, and coach intern teams; elevate them into a high-functioning M&A support unit.
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism and communication across all interactions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, investment banking, M&A, or private equity.
- Proven success executing and closing deals in the lower middle market space.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication, project management, and leadership abilities.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online, Ramp, Bill.com, and modern financial systems preferred.
- The pay range for this role is: 100,000.00 - 110,000.00 USD per year (Anaheim, CA)
