Job Overview
Mitchell Glass Company is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Glass & Glazing Estimator to join our growing team in Clarksville, TN. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial glazing projects, including curtain wall, storefront, and specialty glass systems. You'll work closely with contractors, architects, and project managers to ensure precise bids, foster client relationships, and help drive the continued growth of our company. Key Responsibilities
- Review architectural drawings, bid documents, and specifications to determine scope of work.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial glass and glazing projects, including material and labor take-offs.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and supplier pricing, ensuring competitive bids and accurate lead times.
- Generate and track leads through platforms such as PlanHub, ConstructConnect, and BuildingConnected.
- Monitor bid opportunities, deadlines, and prequalification requests.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, engineers, and project managers to clarify requirements.
- Submit timely, professional project proposals.
- Provide value engineering solutions and alternate recommendations as needed.
- Maintain organized project records, cost databases, and bid histories.
- 3+ years of experience in commercial glass and glazing estimating.
- Strong knowledge of curtain wall, storefront, and glazing systems.
- Proven ability to use bid platforms (PlanHub, ConstructConnect, BuildingConnected, or similar).
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and construction documents.
- Familiarity with estimating tools such as Bluebeam, OST, or equivalent software.
- Excellent math, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.
- Established relationships with contractors, architects, or developers in the Nashville/Clarksville market preferred.
- High school diploma required; technical or construction-related degree preferred.
