Summary

At Magnolia, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for overseeing the operational functions of the business with a strategic focus on supply chain management, IT execution, and facilities oversight. This executive role ensures that Magnolia’s operations are positioned to scale effectively with innovation, precision, and alignment to brand standards. The COO will collaborate closely with executive leadership to enhance organizational agility, improve infrastructure, and drive operational excellence across Magnolia’s diversified portfolio. This position works from Magnolia Headquarters in Waco, Texas. It reports to the Chief Executive Officer and has supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end supply chain operations including sourcing, procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution*
  • Implement scalable systems and strategies to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness*
  • Lead expansion of supply chain capabilities to support new product categories, retail formats, and distribution channels
  • Partner with IT leadership to execute a robust technology roadmap aligned with enterprise goals*
  • Guide implementation and optimization of internal systems, retail technologies, and guest-facing platforms
  • Foster a culture of digital innovation and process automation across departments
  • Oversee strategic planning, construction, and development of all new and existing Magnolia properties*
  • Ensure all physical spaces—including retail, hospitality, office, and warehouse environments—are maintained to brand and operational standards
  • Lead sustainability initiatives and infrastructure improvements across Magnolia locations
  • Build and refine scalable systems that enhance productivity and support Magnolia’s long-term growth strategy*
  • Develop performance metrics, KPI dashboards, and reporting systems to evaluate operational health
  • Promote cross-functional alignment and accountability through clear processes, documentation, and leadership cadence
  • Champion a collaborative, high-performance culture rooted in Magnolia’s core values
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Hard skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required, Familiarity with ERP, WMS, project management, and digital workplace platforms, Knowledge of construction planning, facilities lifecycle management, and demonstrated success in scaling operations across physical and digital environments. Strong financial literacy with experience managing large budgets and forecasting tools

Eligibility Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations roles
  • Background in retail, consumer products, hospitality, or lifestyle brands strongly preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
