- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in this state.
- Must have experience as an MDS Coordinator in a skilled nursing facility.
- Willing to travel.
- Must have an understanding of gerontology and the application of its principles to meet the overall needs of older people.
- Proven working knowledge of all functional departments in long-term care facilities.
- Minimum of 2 years Director of Nursing experience, preferably Regional Consultant.
- Oversee the RAI process timely, for multiple facilities
- Ability to teach/train the MDS process to newly hired MDS Coordinators
- Review QA minutes and attend facility QA meetings as needed.
- Monitor Quality of Care Meeting minutes and attendance needed.
- Monitor Facility Quality Measures, including assisting facilities leadership to develop strategies to improve Quality Measures and State/Federal Specific Quality Assurance programs and regulations.
- Monitor Compliance with QIPP QMs improvement and QIPP PIPs implementation and monthly tracking/trending.
- Assist Regional Director as needed and instructed.
- Support Facility Clinical Operations as Interim Director of Nursing as needed.
- Prepare and present facility and regional reports for Facility and Regional Leadership teams and review the key performance indicators related to QMs and QIPP for a specific region.
- Responsible to review facility QAPI Monthly Committee compliance
- Maintains and demonstrates current knowledge in various clinical care and the provision of quality care as outlined in national standards, measurements and accreditations. Collaborate on implementing solutions to improve facility Regulatory performance within specific region.
- Effectively communicates (written and verbal), manages relationships and is able to influence positive behaviors, conflict management & problem solving and incorporates shared decision making into decision making processes.
- Promotes leadership, serves as a role model/mentor, critically analyzes organizational issues, promotes system thinking, integrates various viewpoints for the good of the organization, serves as a change agent and exhibits creativity and flexibility.
- Assist with each entity’s regulatory accreditation survey preparation and process.
- Discuss quality standards and how to accomplish them with other employees.
- Conducts internal audits of quality assurance programs to ensure their effectiveness in meeting organizational goals.
