About The Job

In this position, you will:

  • Implement regional customs and trade compliance policies and procedures.
  • Develop and deploy strategies to optimize regional trade costs in line with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with regional trade laws, regulations, and agreements.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of customs and trade compliance practices.
  • Provide guidance and training to regional stakeholders on customs and trade compliance matters.
  • Liaise with regional government authorities and industry bodies on customs and trade compliance questions.
  • Oversee all imports, exports, and customs special procedures, including Free Trade Zones (FTZs).
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of trade data (HTS, COO, Preferential Origin) and maintain audit readiness.
  • Oversee regional customs operations and report on cost, service, and quality.

About You

We are looking for a unique and amazing talent, who brings along the following:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of import/export laws, customs regulations, and tariff classifications.
  • Familiarity with trade agreements such as USMCA, WTO regulations, and compliance programs.
  • Strong attention to detail in handling documentation and reporting to avoid costly fines and shipment delays.
  • Ability to interpret complex legal language, assess risks, and provide practical compliance solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to train stakeholders and collaborate with internal teams, government agencies, and external partners.
  • Proficiency in compliance software and systems such as SAP Global Trade Services, Descartes CustomsInfo, and Oracle Global Trade Management.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and data management tools (a plus).
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), Certified Export Specialist (CES), or Licensed Customs Broker (LCB).
  • University degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Law, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in customs and trade compliance, ideally in an international setting.
