We currently have a role available for an Protein Biochemist.

Job Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Work with members of the Protein Engineering team and external partners to assist in the design and generation DNA for protein expression
  • Execute the expression and purification of antibody constructs with an unmatched attention to detail to deliver high quality reagents across the organization.
    • Experience with the design and engineering of complex antibody constructs; using mammalian suspension expression systems for transfection in plates, flasks, and/or bioreactors; purifying molecules utilizing batch purification using resin or magnetic beads are required.
    • Familiarity with display technologies and antibody discovery techniques is a plus
  • Work with members of the Biophysical Chemistry and Mass Spectrometry groups to troubleshoot purifications and analyze quality attributes of purified antibodies.
    • Experience performing controlled Fab arm exchange redox reactions and subsequent analysis; operation of ÄKTA FPLCs (Go, Pure, Avant) including method queues, scouting, and automation workflows; operating and troubleshooting of fiber and column chromatography such as ProA, CEX, AEX, HIC, SEC, and/or multimodal chromatography are all required.
  • Demonstrate collection and thorough analysis of data, and update Electronic Lab Notebook records
    • Experience using Geneious Prime implementing workflows and analysis of protein and DNA sequences; documentation of molecules and registries in Benchling would be preferred.
Job Requirements Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • BS/MS/Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Cancer Biology, Pharmacology, or related field with 10+ YOE (BS), 5+ YOE (MS), or 2+ YOE (Ph.D.) working in an academic or industry laboratory setting.
  • Team player mentality with strong written and verbal communication skills. Will be required to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including structural biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, and biophysics.
  • The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and self-motivated, with the leadership and communication skills necessary to operate effectively in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment with flexibility and an adaptable approach to goal delivery.
