Job Overview

Andrew General Contractors Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated Commercial GS Project Manager to oversee commercial construction projects from planning through completion. In this leadership role, you will manage project budgets, schedules, procurement, and administrative processes while maintaining exceptional quality and client satisfaction. Acting as the central hub of communication between field operations, subcontractors, design professionals, and clients, you will ensure every project is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

This position reports directly to the Director of Operations and requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to thrive under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of all contract documents.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety, ethics, and compliance requirements at all times.
  • Facilitate communication among project team members, design professionals, consultants, owners, and subcontractors.
  • Establish and maintain project procedures for approvals, reporting, payments, and meetings.
  • Collaborate with Pre-Construction in the development of proposals, initial budgets, and bid packages.
  • Prepare and manage procurement of subcontracts, materials, and equipment to maintain schedule compliance.
  • Oversee project profitability, including preparation of project status reports and financial tracking.
  • Review and approve purchase orders, invoices, accounts payable, and receivable items.
  • Schedule, lead, and document all project-related meetings (owner-architect, coordination, etc.).
  • Review, negotiate, and approve subcontract change orders.
  • Manage project close-out, including warranties, guarantees, vendor close, and final payments.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, including bid schedules.
  • Monitor contractor safety processes and ensure compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Building Science or related field, plus at least 5 years of related experience (7 years preferred) with a general contractor or sub-trade, or equivalent education/training/experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and cost control procedures.
  • Proficiency in estimating, scheduling, purchasing, and construction engineering techniques.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated leadership ability.
  • OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Ability to pass Jessica Lunsford Act background check.
  • Medical office or hospital-related construction experience required; AHCA experience preferred.

Schedule

  • Full-time, Monday through Friday
  • Occasional weekends and after-hours work depending on project needs
  • Travel to project sites as required (per diem provided)

  • Based in Orlando, FL with work on surrounding commercial job sites.
